Framework for Identifying & Resolving Data Issues

Great presentation and discussion to kick off the development of the Framework for Identifying & Resolving Data Issues. Thank you to the Kenya MOH, CDC, Palladium and HealthStrat for their presentations and to all who could join us.

We introduced the Framework and are seeking feedback on the tools and interventions the community utilizes within your paper and digital systems to mitigate and resolve potential data issues at the various nodes on the data flow. Here is the link to our working Google document .

Please input this information in comment boxes in the Google document (please also include your name) or in this thread, indicating the corresponding node (identified by the letters in the framework) and data issue you are referencing. We will be convening a collaborative community workshop in Q4. Stay tuned for more details.

Questions to consider when reviewing and adding feedback to the Google document:

  1. Does the content in this framework align with your experiences?
  2. What’s missing?
  3. Is this framework helpful?

As a reminder, the Data Use Community requested a resource that provides:

  1. Practical guides across key areas of data flow processes that impact data quality.
  2. A space to learn from others and see progress/examples in other countries.

This Framework is the first guide to be included. The Framework for Identifying & Resolving Data Issues lays out different points to recognize potential data issues along different data flows. It looks at data that flow from paper-based records to aggregate digital systems, individual digital point of care systems into parallel national digital individual systems and aggregate national systems, and individual point of care systems into national digital individual systems into aggregate national systems. It details the data issues that can occur at each point within a system and the approaches to identify potential data issues, which should trigger an action to resolve the issue at the specific node.

The development of this Framework is a group effort! If you have suggestions, additional resources or would like to promote additional calls related to identifying and resolving data issues, please share here!
